My Interval Origin Story:
Interestingly, my story with Interval started on the other side of the table—I worked in timeshare sales for about 10 years with companies such as Westgate, Marriott, Vistana, Wyndham, and Disney Vacation Club. I genuinely believed in the system from the very beginning. That belief led me to buy my first week with Westgate back in 1998.
Since our very first exchange in September 1999 to Sedona, Arizona, Interval International has been a cherished part of our family’s journey. For the past 28 years, it has opened the door to destinations we never imagined we could afford and helped us create lifelong memories as we watched our four children grow.
Our Interval Vacations:
Some of our favorite Interval vacations have included stays throughout California (from wine country to the coast), Gatlinburg, Williamsburg, Hilton Head, Park City, Orlando, Longboat Key, and Cancún, just to name a few. One of the most meaningful experiences of all was our final family vacation with my mother, at The Bliss at Vidanta Riviera Maya, before she lost her battle with cancer—a memory we will always hold close to our hearts.
Our next Interval vacation is coming up soon, as we’re currently planning a trip to Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol in Spain.
Any Membership Suggestions:
One of my biggest tips for getting the most out of an Interval membership is learning how to fully leverage its flexibility. I especially love taking advantage of the ShortStay Exchange available with Interval Gold and Interval Platinum memberships. Using my two-bedroom lock-off, I can enjoy up to four stays of as many as six nights each—turning what could be eight nights into as many as 24 nights of travel. When you combine that with Getaways and ShortStay Getaways, the value is truly incredible once you understand how to use the system.
Interval has given our family so much more than vacations. It has allowed us to travel with grandparents, watch our children grow through shared experiences, and create unforgettable memories that span generations.
