Interval begins with just one resort in Sanibel, Florida, attracting the attention of other resorts and thousands of members in just a few short years, and laying the foundation for a global exchange network.
The addition of options such as Request First, Getaways, and expanded travel services allows Interval members to take more vacations and book all of their travel with one phone call. Interval World magazine inspires members to dream of new destinations. Membership reaches 300,000 with 600 affiliated resorts.
Interval boasts iconic brands like Marriott, Hyatt, and Disney. And Guest Certificates make their debut, allowing members to gift vacations to family and friends and spread the joy of vacation ownership. Interval becomes the first major exchange company to establish a presence on the internet, allowing members to book Getaways online. Also, with the launch of cruise exchange, members can now exchange their week or points toward sailings. Membership reaches 1 million.
Online exchange starts, giving members a new way to book. Interval Gold® members can split their weeks or points into multiple stays with ShortStay® Exchange and even exchange toward experiences like golf, spa services, tours, and more with Interval Options®.
Now, with Interval Gold and Interval Platinum to choose from, members can select the membership that best fits the way they vacation. And the launch of the mobile app puts exchange and Getaways at members’ fingertips. Benefits like hotel exchange, E-Plus, Best Price Guarantee®, and Flexchange® create flexibility and visibility in vacation planning.
ShortStay Getaways®, digital editions of Interval World magazine, and new travel Packages powered by Priceline Partner Solutions™ redefine member access and convenience. Interval continues to evolve with the way members travel, offering inspiration, savings, and a fully connected travel marketplace.
